By default, jQuery is included as part of the field and widget media. The problem is when my text box is converted to redactorjs WYSIWYG editor, when I'm validating the length of the textbox, it also includes the HTML tags created by redactorjs. The redactor javascript library requires jQuery 1.9 or better to function. The jquery code I am using to get the textarea value which has redactor enabled is var redactor ('redactor').redactor ('get') I have initialized redactor in my jquery file.I have a textbox and I want to validate its length to be not more than 10,000. add a button to the toolbar that calls the showMyModal method when clicked I'm using redactorjs, It's a WYSIWYG editor on jQuery. ![]() RedactorPlugins.pasteasplaintext = function() if (!RedactorPlugins) var RedactorPlugins = ![]() So users wanting to retain formatting just paste into the RTE, and users who want to paste as plain text click the new button. Once the content is pasted we process it to strip out html and retain line breaks. Caused our button to show a modal dialog containing a textarea, into which the user pastes their html content.Set redactor to accept html (ie we didn't set the pastePlainText option).I believe there's at least one jquery plugin that attempts to solve that problem, and a bunch of solutions involving Flash, but we're after a more lightweight fix. A simple and fast tool for everyday tasks of creating and editing texts on the web. That means clicking a button to trigger a "paste" isn't easy. We had assumed that redactor.js has the ability to do this, but in fact it appears to read from the rich text editor only after the user has initiated the paste themselves via Ctrl+v or the context menu. We were barking up the wrong tree here: for security reasons it's difficult to read from the clipboard.
